The MiSU campus is strategically located next to the Bakken oil region and in the heart of Minot. It is comprised of 21 buildings, and the main residence and classroom facilities are situated conveniently within a two-by-six-block area. In recent years, the nine buildings that house academics have been built or extensively remodeled.
Minot, located in north central North Dakota and near the Minot Air Force Base, has a population of nearly 50,000 people and is a friendly, regional center for shopping, entertainment and business. Local museums, live cultural performances, visual art exhibits, a nationally accredited zoo and an extensive public park system contribute to Minot’s social vitality. A regional mall provides dozens of popular stores, and summertime fun includes Summer Theatre, Arts in the Parks and the nine-day North Dakota State Fair.
Admission will be granted to high school graduates who have an ACT score and GPA that correspond to the following admission chart. In addition, students must meet other high school core admission requirements. Separate requirements exist for students who transfer from other institutions or who have successfully completed the GED.

Degree programs and courses are offered at Minot Air Force Base, Bismarck State College and North Dakota State University. The university also delivers several degree programs and courses online.

MiSU is organized into the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business and Education and Health Sciences and the Graduate School and Center for Extended Learning. MiSU also offers several pre-professional and certificate programs.

WHY CHOOSE MiSU
Founded as a teachers college in 1913, MiSU continues to excel in granting teacher education degrees, which may be earned in nearly 20 majors. The university has evolved into a comprehensive institution to meet growth needs in career fields such as nursing, communication disorders, social work, psychology, criminal justice, energy economics and finance, computer science, management, accounting, management information systems and marketing.
MiSU has 11 specifically accredited academic programs, and master’s degrees are offered in business and special education. MiSU offers a specialist degree in school psychology.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
MiSU has nearly 60 student clubs and organizations representing drama, intramural sports, music and student government, to name a few. The Student Activities Committee regularly sponsors events such as dances, movies, hypnotists, comedians, concerts and free food for students.
MiSU is a member of NCAA Division II and plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Athletic Department sponsors men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, track and field and golf. Other teams fielded by men include football, wrestling and baseball. Women also compete in volleyball, fast-pitch softball and soccer. MiSU also has men’s and women’s club hockey teams.

Several degree programs complement the workforce needs of the region and state. MiSU’s affiliation with Dakota College at Bottineau as its branch campus creates unique possibilities for students, including one-year certificates through six-year master’s degrees.
MiSU’s magnificent campus facilities and grounds offer students a modern, learning friendly environment. Newly renovated Swain Hall houses the Department of Teacher Education and Human Performance. The new Student Health and Wellness Center welcomes students of all fitness levels. The $12.8 million facility brings the ideal health center to the MiSU campus. With a climbing wall, three intramural courts, exercise classes, weight rooms and a direct connection to the MiSU Dome, students have the perfect facilities for physical and mental wellness.
